The hybrid event will include campaign speeches and posters for all of the restaurant candidates, and those present will vote on paper ballots. Counting done right there, in view of all, as virtual attendees vote on electronic polling software. With the results combined, one restaurant will win bragging rights as “the voters’ choice”, and a lucky attendee will be the lottery winner of a gift certificate to the winning establishment.
This midweek after-work event will bring a smile to your face and introduce you to some great restaurants in Jersey City—and provide an example of ranked-choice voting, which is being considered in cities, counties, and states across the country. We look forward to seeing you at this fun and informative “election”—in person or on screen!
