The Green Party of New Jersey defends Free Speech, supports BDS and opposes S1923

Parsippany, NJ --The Green Party of New Jersey stands against the suppression of free speech.  The State of New Jersey should not try to bully organizations with the threat of cutting funding away from standing in solidarity with oppressed communities suffering under illegal occupations.  We stand in support of organizations and communities that choose to withhold their support from the illegal conduct of the Israeli State such as settlements, land grabs, and the continued blockade of Gaza.

We further condemn the cynical charges of "anti-Semitism" in opposition to our principled stand against imperialism and colonialism.  Standing up for the human rights of Palestinians is not anti-Semitic.  Instead, the insistence that Palestinian lives do not matter is a racist attitude that should be condemned.  A green administration would take efforts that supported human rights rather than suppressing free speech.
The GPNJ is a party of and about peace, justice, & liberty. Therefore we remain committed to the defense of civil liberties here in New Jersey, opposing S1923 and to a non-violent & equitable resolution to the ongoing conflict between the State of Israel and the Palestinian people.
