This is Dr. Rajit Malliah's first time running for office. He is a board certified pathologist, licensed to practice in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. He's affiliated with Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Capital Health Medical Center-Hopewell, and Hackensack University Medical Center. He considers single payer healthcare/medicare for all, to be one the central issues that he will be campaigning on.

Mr. Welzer has been a Green movement activist for over 20 years. He is no stranger to New Jersey politics. He ran previously for U.S. Congress, governor, and state assembly on several occasions. He believes the Green New Deal advocated by GPUS presidential hopeful Jill Stein, is needed to get the country moving forward on several fronts.

The GPNJ's  Executive Committee was excited to here about Mr. Welzer's and Dr. Malliah's  interest in running for U.S. Congress. "We are going to do everything within our power to make sure that every resident of the 12th and 6th congressional district know  about these two candidates. We have between now and November to make Welzer & Malliah household names in New Jersey", said newly elected GPNJ chairperson Julie Saporito-Acuna. "This is the year we will have greens breakthrough the wall known as gerrymandering, and send ethical, forward thinking, ecologically-minded individuals to Washington to represent the 99%", said GPNJ Treasurer, Jessica Mangels.

The Green Party of New Jersey remains committed to putting people - families, and the environment before profits. These two candidates exemplify that commitment.
