	Green Candidates Get Good Voter Response in 1999 New Jersey voters responded well to Green candidates in 1999 elections.
	Be A Hero!!! Please Give Blood! The supply of blood available to people anywhere in New Jersey is so low that the entire amount of blood for our state constitutes less than one day's supply.
	GPNJ Directions The "GPNJ Direction Seminar" on November 14 was a terrific event--a chance for members of GPNJ to hear each other out regarding deeply held values and personal interpretations of questions like "who we are?" "where are we going?" "how do we get there?"
	Congratulations, Gary! Longtime GPNJ member and outgoing chair, Gary Novosielski, was elected to the Rutherford School Board in 1999. In a field of six candidates vying for three seats on the Rutherford, New Jersey, Board of Education, Gary placed FIRST, with 948 votes (53%).

	S104 Vote Monday. It must be stopped. This bill is essentially about dumping nuclear waste. If it passes, it sends a green light to nuclear polluters that they should go full steam ahead and carelessly generate as much plutonium 239 as they wish. Personally, I don't think there should be any nuclear power, or any new nuclear waste generated. When is that bill going to be introduced?
	Midwest Flood Report Sierra Club National held a press conference this week concerning wetlands destruction and the recent flooding in the Midwest. The following should be of interest to those fighting the many "flood control" projects in NJ.
	Help Stop the Cassini Space Probe In 1997 NASA plans to launch the Cassini space probe. The fuel they have chosen for this deep space probe is plutonium 238. Plutonium 238 is the veritable king kong of toxic substances. It is so lethal, scientists to this day remain unable to determine the minimum lethal dose.

	Stop Cloning Madness As hard as it is to believe, the New York Times yesterday broke the story that Scottish scientists have been able to clone an adult sheep. With this 'breakthrough' we now have the technology to clone any mammal, including humans. This must be stopped.
	Oppose Senators Kempthorne & Chafee Draft ESA Bill! While the Chafee-Kempthorne draft bill has some good provisions, it also contains industry-inspired amendments to the ESA that go against the Act's purpose of protecting and recovering endangered species and their habitats.
